Why we exist

It all started with my mom. Watching her navigate fibroids, and eventually a hysterectomy, completely changed how I think about my own health. Turns out up to 90% of Black women will be diagnosed with fibroids by age 50 — and most of us are never even told that.

The word Onani means "look" in Nyanja, and our ethos is all about inviting women to slow down, pay attention our bodies, and make informed choices that improve our wellbeing.

We're designing period underwear made from natural fibers, with a launch planned for early 2027. But this is bigger than one product, and I'd love for you to be part of it from the very beginning.

Community is important to us, which is why we're committed to supporting organizations tackling period poverty and under-researched women's health conditions along the way. At the end of the day, our mission is to help women everywhere live their best lives.
